The Fitter fabricates, positions, aligns, and fits parts of structural metal products.

• Verify conformance of workpieces to specifications, using squares, rulers, and measuring tapes.
• Align and fit parts according to specifications, using jacks, turnbuckles, wedges, drift pins, pry bars, and hammers.
• Move parts into position, manually or with hoists or cranes.
• Position, align, fit, and weld parts to form complete units or subunits, following blueprints and layout specifications, and using jigs, welding torches, and hand tools.
• Study engineering drawings and blueprints to determine materials requirements and task sequences.
• Perform all Essential Functions listed on the WENDT Welder job description.
• Perform other duties as requested by your supervisor.

Education and Experience:
• Any combination equivalent to High School diploma or equivalent
• Three years metal fitting experience or similar.
• Must have experience with operating cranes and hoists.
• Basic computer skills.
• Skill in reading and interpreting plans, blueprints, and specifications.
• Knowledge about safety precautions and process while working.
• Ability to read blueprints and understand instructions.

This position uses specialized equipment to “weld” or join together metals and cut or trim metal objects.

• Perform tasks for welding metal, such as fusing metal segments, using various types of welding arcs.
• Safely operate equipment, look out for the safety of others at all times.
• Has an assortment of personal tools of the trade and utilizes them along with company provided tools.
• Safely operate forklifts, jibs, and overhead cranes to move and position materials into and around work area.
• Identify fault in equipment or in relation to any material or equipment.
• Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, bolt, or grind parts to satisfy the technical requirements and create a welded final product.
• Control the processes of fitting, burning and welding to avoid problems in relation to overheat, distortion, expansion or shrink of spare parts.
• Examine finished products and spare parts and compare them with blueprint and/or samples to ensure specifications are met.
• Prepare and set up necessary tools and equipment for welding jobs such as shielded metal arc, gas metal arc or other welding equipment.
• Tack-welds or welds components and assemblies, using electric, gas, arc, FCAW or other welding equipment.
• Cut work-piece using powered saws, hand shears, or cutoff wheel.
• Repair equipment or fabrications.
• Determine required equipment to weld, pre-heat, and inspect work.
• Inspect fitup prior to welding.
• Remove rough spots from work-piece, using portable grinder, hand file, or scraper.
• Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
• Heat, form, and dress metal parts, using hand tools, torch, or arc welding equipment.
• Ignite torch and adjust valves, amperage, or voltage to obtain desired flame or arc.
• Analyze engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations
• Develop templates and other work aids to hold and align parts.
• Suggest process and manufacturing method improvements.

Education and Experience:
• Any combination equivalent to High School diploma or equivalent and three years of responsible metal fabrication experience, including one year of journey-level experience.

The Electrical Designer is responsible for designing and detailing products for use in the company’s core product lines. Responsibilities include designing and detailing capital equipment and electrical hardware used in the metal recycling industry. Work will generally be done under the guidance of an Engineer or other more senior staff member.

• Utilize mastery of solid modeling and CAD skills to design, assemble and detail parts, assemblies, and schematics for internal and 3rd party equipment
• Work with senior engineering staff to ensure designs are released and available in a timely matter to meet project schedule.
• Provide technical support to the supply chain team and foster an environment that encourages suggestions and product improvements from the supply chain.
• Learns and follows established work practices.
• Produce high quality drawings to company standards.
• Able to both create designs from scratch as well as derivative designs from existing products.
• Employ Design for Manufacturing (DFM) rules to achieve maximum cost benefit to produce parts and assemblies.

Education and Experience:
• Associates of Arts (AS) degree in Electrical Design or Engineering similar curriculum or equivalent experience is required. Bachelors of Science (BS) in Electrical Engineering Technology Preferred.
• 2-5 years of demonstrated work experience in preparing electrical drawings, including single lines, schematics, electrical bills of material, equipment layouts, cable schedules, etc.
• Basic knowledge of electrical equipment, components, wiring for Low Voltage 3-phase and single phase systems AC and DC.
• AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent solid modeling tools experience. AutoCAD Inventor preferred.
• Highly skilled in solid and parametric modeling, as well as solid modeling data management, and schematic capture.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes; panel building, welding, steel fabrication, plate cutting, and machining.
• Strong drafting skills, particularly; electrical schematics, weldments, sheet metal, machining, and general arrangement drawings.
• Understands basic MRP and ERP procedures as they pertain to manufacturing.
• Comprehension of costed bills of materials and their use in designing and building equipment.

The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for performing inventory management for incoming and outgoing company products and parts necessary to manufacturing of products and support of PSO shipments.

• Verify goods received conform to acceptable standards and consistent with purchase order specifications with regard to quantity, size, etc.
• Extensive use of material moving equipment: Fork truck, pallet jacks, cranes.
• Marks/Labels materials for proper storage/Shipment
• Keeps Warehouse and shop storage locations organized and materials properly stored and labeled.
• Maintains and Adheres to a Lean and 5’s warehouse/plant/grounds
• Update received and shipped materials in the ERP system.
• Prints PSO orders and WO for picking of parts, Assemblies
• Picks parts, records shortages for WO’s and PSO orders.
• Issue materials to work orders within the ERP system.
• Photograph all outbound machinery to minimize transit liability and proof of conformity with bill of lading documentation.

Education and Experience:
• B.S. degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering, or equivalent education, preferred
• 0-3 years of experience in an engineer-to-order and/or an OEM environment in a similar role
• CLP and/or any other advanced Lean certification preferred
• Completion of the Six Sigma training preferred
• Experience in a heavy metal fabrication environment preferred
• Experience with using CNC equipment and Autodesk Inventor preferred
