WENDT CORPORATION Outlines Strategic Plan for Accelerated Growth

To capitalize on today’s rapidly changing scrap recycling landscape, WENDT has announced new strategic plans that more closely align with the Company’s priorities for future growth. These transformation initiatives will aid the Company in building a powerful and unique business model to accelerate enterprise growth and create additional value for customers, partners, and employees.

“We are strategically positioning our business for the future, establishing global partnerships, creating a more effective sales and service structure, and making investments in best-in-class technology and process innovation,” said Tom Wendt, President, WENDT CORPORATION. “By leveraging these key initiatives, we are expanding our value proposition and creating a global framework to serve customers worldwide.”

Sales Organization Restructure

WENDT has experienced record sales growth over the last two years with the sale and commissioning of eight automobile shredder plants and over ten large separation and sorting systems. This increased demand and growth in sales opportunities led WENDT to restructure its sales organization to add Regional Sales Representatives. The regional sales force will be closer to its customers and responsible for communicating with North American scrap processors about how WENDT can help them improve and grow their operations. This restructuring includes the addition of scrap industry veteran, Al Tomes. Tomes worked at PADNOS for over 25 years. He comes to WENDT after his most recent industry experience serving as VP of Northern Operations at Scrap Metal Services.

Service Department Expansion

Growth in sales paved the way for WENDT to expand its Service Department. Last Fall, WENDT revamped its Parts and Service Department by splitting it into two groups: Parts and Technical Support and Field Service. Since the transition, the Field Service team has doubled its staff and Phillip Nowicki was hired to lead the newly created group. This service structure was developed to support the growing WENDT installed base, while also expanding its service-related product offerings.

Global Supply Chain Investments

Investing in global supply chain capabilities is crucial to meet the evolving needs of our customers. With growing demand and the variety of fabrication and machining our solutions require, supply chain growth was a logical evolution in our expansion strategy. WENDT has established partnerships with highly specialized companies whose technology and capacity expands our value proposition. The result is an efficient and agile supply chain with a strengthened ability to deliver more product, on-time, and with better quality.

World-Class Solutions Provider

Since 1977, WENDT has been serving the scrap industry with an entrepreneurial passion for innovation and technology that is forged out of a desire to deliver value to our customers. To that end, WENDT remains committed to a growth strategy with an emphasis on delivering value to our customers both near and far. The strength of our value proposition will be found in our creative process solutions, service, and overall customer experience.

In alignment with our strategic initiatives and remaining true to our core values, WENDT has recently reached a Union labor contract with its shop employees at its headquarters in Buffalo, NY. The contract affords us the same flexibility to operate the business as we always have for the past 40 years.

“Our commitment to streamlining processes, growing strategic partnerships, and enhancing our ability to service our customers, all contribute to the strong foundations that make us unique as a world-class recycling equipment provider,” Wendt said. “This strategic growth initiative enhances our capabilities, creates new opportunities for customers and prepares the Company for exponential future growth as a global enterprise.”
