History

In 1949, Wilfred Wendt, was a co-founder of D&J Press Company, Inc., a company that manufactured hydraulic baling presses for the scrap processing industry. After working closely with his father for many years, Thomas A. Wendt Sr. continued the family commitment to the industry by forming his own company in 1977 - Wendt Corporation.

Although Wendt specialized in different equipment, we still remained focused on the same industry and many of the same customers. In 1997, Tom Wendt, Jr. joined his father, continuing a third generation of the Wendt family's commitment to the scrap processing equipment industry.

From the beginning, Wendt grew at a rapid pace. Taking on new projects and equipment were just the beginning. Through our many endeavors and acquisitions, we created relationships that have increased the synergy between our products and services and those of our business partners, resulting in a more service- and value-oriented company for our customers.
