CMC - Lexington purchases
second Wendt/SSE Separator
Commercial Metals Company (Lexington, SC) has
purchased a second 96" wide Wendt/SSE Metal Finder System from Wendt
Corporation. The equipment is designed to serve as a Stainless Steel Separator
to process the waste flow from an Eddy Current and recover the metal units
currently being shipped to the landfill including Stainless Steel, Copper
Windings, Insulated and Bare Copper Wire.
CMC officials stated that the initial separator provided a significant increase
in metal recovery and subsequently a rapid return on the investment. The positive
experience working with Wendt, the additional revenue stream created, reduced
landfill expenses and overall satisfaction lead to the order for the second
unit. CMC is also considering adding additional processing equipment to further
improve the quality of their metal recovery.
Wendt manufactures the Metal Finders at their
facility located in Tonawanda, NY and includes technology developed by Separation
Systems Engineering GmbH (SSE) located in Wedel, Germany. Wendt / SSE has
supplied more than 100 separators to the Scrap Recycling Industry worldwide.
