Camden Iron & Metal - Camden, NJ
purchases first X-tract Separator
Wendt Corporation (Tonawanda, NY) is pleased to announce the sale of an X-tract Separator to Camden Iron & Metals located in Camden, NJ making them the first company in the USA to receive the newest and most advanced form of separation technology available in the marketplace today.
Now, instead of shipping residue to a heavy media plant, a scrap yard can process residue at their location, produce a high quality finished product and market it directly to the secondary marketplace. An X-tract Separator is a dry separation process which serves as an excellent and cost effective alternative to dense media separation without the environmental concerns.
The X-tract Separator utilizes X-Ray Transmission (XRT) technology to identify the metal content of targeted particles. This advanced technology can support the metals the flow from up to four Eddy Current Systems to be processed at once with the most accurate sensing available. A burst of X-ray energy is utilized to "see through" the particles traveling in the process stream allowing materials to be identified and separated based on Atomic Density. XRT technology can also identify particles that may contain combined metals such as a metal screw within a piece of aluminum to insure the purity of the recovery.
Very successful in Europe, this advanced technology is causing scrap processors to re-evaluate their existing non-ferrous sorting process and immediately benefit from a continual revenue stream. Camden Iron & Metal has configured their X-tract system to produce a market ready 380 product by capitalizing on the equipment's ability to identify and remove both free zinc and zinc content alloy materials and sizing the product.
Wendt Corporation remains the scrap industry's
leading innovator and manufacturer of processing equipment and solutions.
